New toy

The department changed some of its desktop computers. Including mine. Now, I'm working with a Dell, looking at a super big monitor, like the Titanic in the face of my miserable little one at home. And it's causing me a headache now. So bloody damn big, wonder how fast the radiation is killing me. tsk...

Always almost

Last weekend was a long weekend. I worked from home on Friday. So, that sort of made my weekend start that bit earlier. Well, I still did work. But, you know, the whole feeling of working from home is just so much more motivating than to work in this miserable cell in this godforsaken part of Singapore. Opposition-forsaken too, in view of the upcoming election in Little Red Dot.

Friday, Girl (i.e. how my girlfriend is being referred to in this blogspace) and me went to Raffles Place for dinner. 'Cos I wanted to go pop by Tinkerbelle. It's a little shoppe opened in March by Sharon. Sharon, being Hadrian's girlfriend. And if you are reading this, please take a minute to check this out: www.iluvtinkerbelle.com Good stuff for the girls, girl friends, girlfriends, girl colleagues, x girl friend, girl-everything else. It's along the bridge to the Clifford Pier from Change Alley. A little carriage shop, I like to call it. Just opposite Watsons along the bridge. Reasonable price, nice little place.

Ok. 'Nuf of advertising here. heh.

I think she's so brave to start up this shoppe. Entrepreneur-ship is not cheap in Singapore. And Girl and me were really impressed with the commitment and the creativity she and her biz partner have put into it. Neat. Which sort of inspired both of us further in our daydream of opening a little eatery place. But, that will be another dreamy story altogether.

Saturday was just spent idling at Girl's house. Trying to do crunches with my feet clamping her gym ball. Man, tough work. And that reminded me that I've thighs and arms made of rubber that has lost its elasticity. I hate such reminders. But, that's nothing to stop us from a good dinner. With sweet corn and pork ribs soup, a big compromise from steamboat buffet. But, it's nice! Deciding where to eat is just soooo much a chore when you are just recovering from a bad cough and a poor pocket.

We went cycling at ECP on Monday, i.e. Mayday. And then a superbly good lunch at our fav Jap eatery - Ichiban Boshi. Try the Dobinmushi, people. It's served in a little teapot and it's nice!!! If you like mushrooms.

Just something I remember thinking when Girl asked, 4 times, if I like the Dobinmushi - The simplest of pleasure is the most of pleasure in life. And mine is derived from looking at how my girlfriend's eyes lit up when she drinks the soup, little cup by little cup. There's also something lovely about the fact that she repeated the same question 3 times.

Nice.

How much to buy your vote?

The dividends from the progress package was in earlier than expected. Queues of people at the ATMs, grinning all the way to and from the ATMs. Orchard road was super crowded. The mood was 'Buy! Buy! Buy!', the air was called consumerism. Both Taka and Metro had extended shopping hours. 10pm and 11pm respectively.

How much to buy your vote? Around 600 bucks, I would think. And, that's rightfully our own money to begin with. Where do you think they get national dividends? Once spent, becomes their money again. Tsk, where's the sense in that?
